“ Home of passionate, enterprising urbanites ”
It is fast becoming the trendy and happening place in Makati and you would definitely want to be in it.
Formerly known—and still usually referred to—as Pasong Tamo, Chino Roces Avenue has been turning into a favored location of hip and interesting bars and restaurants, art galleries, studios and specialty shops. This led the up-and-coming business hub to be an “incubator of new business enterprises and creativity” especially for young go-getters who want a Makati address for their trade. There has been a steady influx of investors eager to acquire a piece of rare and precious real estate in the country’s most expensive city and preferred business, and not to mention residential address.
Among those quick to recognize the potential of the area is SM Development Corporation (SMDC) as it has picked Chino Roces to be the address of its third residential high-rise in Makati, SMDC Red Residences.
Your Prime Makati Address
Just a few minutes walk from the Makati central business district, Red Residences will rise along Chino Roces, midway between Gil Puyat Avenue and Rufino Street. Red Residences will have 33 storeys and 1,106 units. It will consist mostly of one-bedroom units with prices starting at P6.5 million.
SMDC positions Red Residences as the home of passionate, enterprising urbanites who are intense and driven about their craft, adventurous, independent and love the buzz and dynamism of the city. These are the 30- to 45-year-old Filipinos who are successful in their profession and want to take their success to the next level by building their own enterprises.
Such is also the reason why SMDC chose the color for the name of its newest project, as red is usually associated with passion and fervor, qualities which describe these movers and shakers who will eventually be homeowners of Red Residences.
At Home with Young Entrepreneurs
In conceptualizing the project, SMDC put into careful consideration the needs of entrepreneurs. The dynamic location, for one, promises to address the business-minded and creative person’s constant need for inspiration.
Social Halls and the Co Lab Corner will be venues to exchange tips of the trade, learn new skills and pass on knowledge to fellow entrepreneurs. There will be an Ideation Hub and meeting rooms for residents who need to conduct business meetings at home and speak with business partners.

Mapping Your Way Through Chino Roces

Adventures await here
I remember being a bright-eyed, impressionable fresh grad with daydreams of working in one of those gleaming, intimidating skyscrapers along Ayala Ave., melding into the crowd of men and women walking up and down the central business district in their dapper office clothes, shiny shoes and smart-looking glasses.
But as fate would have it, I ended up in an office which, while still conveniently located in Makati, is not exactly right smack on sophisticated Ayala but on a long stretch of road that is equally exciting.
If Chino Roces Avenue were a movie, it would be an independently-produced one, roughly but artfully edited, and with the kind of depth that will leave you with more feelings than your heart and mind can probably hold. Its bells and whistles are not always the polished kind, its attractiveness may be even an acquired taste.
A closer look at this area and you’ll find that there’s more to Chino Roces than meets the eye.
Holding office here for already a decade and a half, Chino Roces and its adjacent streets have become like a second home. There would be days—and nights—when I found myself exploring Chino Roces’ nooks and crannies, especially when looking for a place to eat. There are a multitude of specialty shops for all your needs and restos that answer every craving.
Whether you’re craving local or international cuisine, you’ll never run out of options here on Chino Roces. There’s the famous compound, Little Tokyo, where you can feast on takoyaki, ramen or all the wagyu cubes that you can eat (personally heaven-sent for me). Amici, which is beside Don Bosco Makati, serves mouth-watering pastas and pizzas. Its cake arm, Caramia, is every sweet-tooth’s paradise. Be sure to try their gelatos and best-selling ube cake.
